Job Offers and Acceptances

We will provide full information about the applicable position. The GMC has a booklet called Good Medical Practices which you should read to ensure that you follow the guidelines for practicing as medical locum. It states that any doctor that agrees to work as a medical locum and has confirmed such will be expected to honour their commitment. If it is not possible to honour your commitment to commence with a medical job at an agreed employer please provide a reasonable notice period to ensure that we can make an arrangement for a suitable replacement for the medical job.

How the process works

Once all the documents have been received and confirmed as well as identity checks performed, interviews completed and the medical job placement agreed upon you will receive a medical job profile detailing the following:

• Full description of the speciality and grade regarding the medical locum position.
• We will confirm the work hours and rates.
• The hospital address and contact details will be provided.
• We will also provide the contact details of a relevant consultant or medical staffing officer.
• We will also provide confirmation of accommodation where applicable.

Reporting for work

The medical locum must report at the consultant or staffing officer at the hospital or medical facility upon arrival. The staffing officer will confirm your identity and you will receive an introduction to the procedures. Please review our section on Reporting for Work for more comprehensive information.

Time Sheets & Payroll

You will send you a timesheet for each locum that we book you for. You need to complete the time sheets at the end of the week and forward it to us by email, post or fax after authorization. Please also forward invoices and receipts for subsidised accommodation and travel to us. Salaries are paid weekly into the bank account of the medical locum. Accommodation and travel

We will provide you with confirmation about accommodation and travel arrangements before the medical job placement takes place. Please note that if no mentioning is made for subsiding of travel or accommodation that it will not apply for the specific medical locum contract.
